How Do I Obtain WSIB Work Injury Treatment?

When you are injured on the job, you need to inform your supervisor or employer immediately. Your employer needs to initiate a workplace injury claim with WSIB. Once that claim has been initiated, contact Physiotherapy First to schedule your initial work injury treatment consultation.

During your initial visit, we will conduct a detailed examination of your workplace injury and determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Your physiotherapist will provide you with education about your injury, what types of treatments are the most effective, and other information you need to know.

We also actively encourage our patients to openly participate in developing their treatment plans. We believe that when patients participate in their plans, they are more likely to adhere to the treatments and recover faster.

Do I Need To Worry About Filing WSIB Insurance Claims?

At Physiotherapy First, we take care of filing WSIB insurance claim forms, and any related documentation required by the WSIB. We work directly with WSIB for payment so you are not required to pay for any treatment out of your pocket. All you have to do is show up for your appointments as scheduled for your treatments.

All our services are authorized for use by the WSIB. As such, your treatment plan can incorporate physiotherapy, chiropractic care, rehabilitation exercises, and other such treatments to help you recover as fast as possible. We will work closely with your Family Physician and Adjudicator to ensure a safe and healthy return to work.

How Do I Proceed With My WSIB Rehabilitation Claim?

  • Inform your employer of your workplace injury. WSIB is obligated to fund your health and rehabilitation process. Once you have a health claim initiated with WSIB we can take care of the rest.
  • Call us to book an initial assessment. In your first session, the Registered Physiotherapist will examine your workplace related injury, determine the best course of treatment and will discuss with you the best treatment plan moving forward. We will collect all the necessary information to fill out and submit a WSIB rehabilitation insurance claim on your behalf and begin treatment immediately.
  • Your treatment plan and recovery. Follow-up appointments will be booked to fit your schedule. These appointments will incorporate a wide range of therapeutic modalities as appropriate including Manual Therapy, Ultrasound, TENS, Acupuncture, and Exercise. Our objective is to use all of our available resources to get you better as fast as possible.
  • Focus on getting better. We will work on your behalf to manage all reporting and documentation required for your claim to ensure that you get all the necessary treatment you need.
