Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a healthcare practice that treats a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. It involves manual manipulation of affected muscles, joints and soft tissues. At our physiotherapy clinic in Brampton, we provide personalized treatments to help every individual get back to a healthy lifestyle and restore quality of life. Physical therapy involves no surgeries or medications. It adopts a holistic and non-invasive approach to treating physical pain, discomfort and immobility.

Replace Aches and Pains with Comfort and Flexibility.

What is physiotherapy treatment?

Physiotherapy treatments are a combination of various techniques and methods that are customized based on the patient’s needs and expectations. The objective of physiotherapy treatment is to help the patient alleviate their chief complaint, which is typically some sort of pain and discomfort from an accident, injury, or chronic painful condition, such as arthritis.

This is accomplished by focusing on specific services that will help alleviate that pain, improve functioning, and help strengthen the body. At Physiotherapy First, our physiotherapists do not just focus on the initial symptoms of the pain and discomfort but also treat the root causes for the pain and discomfort.

Physiotherapy treatment and services can involve using one or more of the following methods:

What should you expect during you initial physiotherapy consultation?

Your initial consultation allows our physiotherapists to obtain a better understanding of your pain and discomfort. A comprehensive examination is performed to determine what types of physiotherapy treatments and services would best meet your needs. During the examination, we may perform some tests, like testing the range of motion.

After the examination, our physiotherapists prepare a customized treatment plan that will focus on the treatments and services that will best help reduce your pain and discomfort, promote healing, and target the underlying causes for the pain.

If you have questions about your treatment plan, we are happy to answer your questions during the consultation visit. If you are satisfied with the treatment plan, we may begin treatment the same day.

How often will I need physiotherapy treatments and services?

The length, duration, and frequency of appointments will depend on the extent of your pain and discomfort. Initially, regular visits every other day, or even every day may be recommended. The reason we encourage you to keep these appointments is each treatment session helps aid in your recovery and the healing of the body.

As you become stronger and your body heals, your appointment schedule is adjusted to reflect your current needs and objectives.

How does physiotherapy treatments and services benefit me?

The primary benefit you will gain from physiotherapy treatments and services at Physiotherapy First is alleviating your pain and discomfort. As your body beings to heal the pain subsides, you will start to gain other benefits that can include, but may not be limited to:

Yes, it is quite common for people receiving chiropractic care at Physiotherapy First to also receive physiotherapy treatments and services. Our goal is to provide you with comprehensive and quality care to ensure you receive the best treatment plan, treatments, and services to help you feel better faster and reduce your level of pain and discomfort.

Should I continue physiotherapy treatments and services after I am healed?

Some of our patients receive ongoing physiotherapy treatments and services after their initial complaint has healed. The reason they decide to continue treatments and services is to continue to promote better health and overall well-being.
