It is now more than ever crucial to maintain arm and wrist health due to the ever-increasing sedentary lifestyle. Read this blog to know how to take care of arms and wrists.

Thus, it is crucial to maintain arm and wrist health while you are working at the office. Here are the five highly effective tips for maintaining healthy arms and wrists in workspaces.

Working, these days is not about maintaining a 9-5 regime. It is now a round-the-clock affair, thanks to the pandemic. With work-from-home being the new normal, employees are pressurized to work for extended hours daily. This has put you in danger of potentially  sustaining additional injuries.

You may not realize it now, but the sedentary lifestyle leads to excruciating joint injuries. The injuries may also be related to other underlying health conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes and more.

Thus, it is crucial to maintain arm and wrist health while you are working at the office. Here are the five highly effective tips for maintaining healthy arms and wrists in workspaces.

 

  1. Take regular, frequent breaks 

Though a cliché, it is mandatory to take regular, frequent breaks. Breaks are also beneficial for your mental health. But, these can also help you maintain arm and wrist health. Regular breaks allow our muscles and joints to relax and recover. The constant typing and mouse movement often cause pain in the joints. So, take regular breaks to release the pressure and feel relaxed.

  1. Drink plenty of water 

All of us are aware of these pieces of advice, but we don’t implement them. The lack of hydration can cause pain in the joints. So, stay hydrated to maintain and improve joint health. If required, set an alarm that would remind you to pause for a while and drink water.

  1. Maintain good posture

 In an office environment, whether you like it or hate it, you are bound to perform repetitive movements at the sitting or standing desk. These repetitive motions make it difficult for you to maintain good posture. Get familiar with accurate postures. Make sure you implement the posture while working. Good posture is directly proportional to joint alignment. So, you will automatically have good joint health if you have a good posture.

  1. Bend your arms at 90 degrees while typing

 Most individuals suffer from joint pain in the arms because they type without positioning the arms properly. You should extend your arms and wrists while typing. Keep them in a neutral position whenever you type. The computer screen should be at eye level to bring forth good posture.

  1. Stretch

You don’t have to go to a gym to implement the stretching exercises. You can do so right at the sitting desk in the workspace. Take a few minutes each day to stretch. It does wonders to muscles, ligaments and joints. You can try squeezing a stress ball to relieve the pressure. Create a tight fist and then open up the hand to stretch your fingers.

You cannot avoid work. Can you? But, you cannot let it ruin your health either. So, follow the above-mentioned tips and maintain the health of your arms and wrists hassle-free.
